How it works
It reads the Amazon pages you already have open and writes to the Goodreads account you're already signed in to. Books it's sure about arrive pre-checked; anything ambiguous is shown unchecked rather than quietly dropped. Confirmed books can clear off your Amazon cart too.
Why an extension and not a website?
Goodreads retired its public API in December 2020 and issues no new keys, and Amazon has never exposed a personal cart to third parties. A website would have to ask for both your passwords. An extension asks for neither — it runs inside sessions you're already signed in to.
What data does it collect?
None. There's no server, no account, and no analytics. The only thing that leaves your browser is an anonymous title lookup to Open Library or Google Books, for Kindle and Audible editions whose ASIN isn't an ISBN.
What if Goodreads changes their site?
Books route to a CSV file you import at
goodreads.com/review/import instead — a documented,
stable format. You lose convenience, not books.
